FAQ
Below is a list of frequently asked questions. If you find that your question is not answered here, please do not hesitate to contact us.
How long does it take?
The minimum prescribed assessment time by the RMS is 5 hours for a Light Rigid or a Medium Rigid and 6 hours for a Heavy Rigid or Heavy Combination. When you complete these hours with us you have the option to complete the entire duration in one day or to spread it out over any number of days that you wish.
Your HVCBA log book is valid for a maximum of 3 years. The minimum warning time that we must give the RMS prior to performing the Final Competency Assessment is 48 hours. We suggest that you contact us as soon as you obtain your HVCBA books to ensure you can complete your FCA at the best time for you.
How much does it cost?
The amount payable to us is dependent on many variables such as; the licence class you are applying for, whether or not you need to complete any training outside the minimum duration prescribed by the RMS, if you or the company has their own vehicle that they wish to use and whether you or the company you work for is providing payment.
Do I need to pay up front?
No. The minimum payment we require is that you pay for the hours you complete on the day, that is, if you are only completing 2 hours of assessment or training on a day you will be asked to pay an appropriately scaled portion of the overall cost. Full payment is required before the Final Competency Assessment is undertaken.
What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept Cash, EFTPOS, Visa, MasterCard or direct deposit.
When can I do my Final Competency Assessment?
The RMS dictates that a final competency assessment may be completed by an RMS accredited assessor any time between the hours of 7am and 7pm, 7 days a week.
I have completed training and/or assessment with another RMS accredited instructor and/or assessor. Am I able to complete my licence upgrade with you?
Yes. You are able to change instructors and/or assessors at any time. Before you attend our location for further instruction or assessment it is required that you bring with you a print out of your completed competencies which you can obtain from any RMS motor registry. This is to prove to us that the competencies listed in your log book as being assessed have been reported by your previous assessor. If you have any more questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
