Heavy Rigid
Gearbox Restricted
The vehicle you will be using to upgrade your licence to a heavy rigid with restriction to automatic and synchromesh gearboxes only (unless you already hold an unrestricted medium rigid licence) is a 1978 Volvo N10 that has a GVM of 25,000kg.
It has a 12-speed synchromesh gearbox and is fitted with a 10 cubic metre tipping body.
Unrestricted
The vehicle you will be using to upgrade your licence to a heavy rigid with no gearbox restriction is a 1991 Western Star that has a GVM of 24,100kg. It has a 13 speed Road Ranger (constant mesh or dog box) gearbox and is fitted with a 12,000 litre water tank.

Heavy Combination
Gearbox Restricted
The vehicle you will be using to upgrade your licence to heavy combination with restriction to automatic and synchromesh gearboxes only (unless you already hold an unrestricted medium rigid or heavy rigid licence) is a 1997 Scania T143M.
It has a 12-speed synchromesh gearbox and tows a 2000 Hercules tri-axle 48 ft. step deck trailer.
